Consultation

Consultation fee is $50 (which is not included in locking session fees)

At the sisterlocks consultation you can expect to spend one hour. The consultation is designed to discuss the Sisterlocks hair locking process. You will be asked questions regarding your lifestyle as it relates to your past and current care practices. This includes hair styling habits, shampooing habits, daily activities such as exercise, outdoor pleasures, etc. We will discuss how Sisterlocks differs from other hair locking techniques. Your use of certain types of hair care preparations affect the feel and appearance of Sisterlocks.

At consultation, you will receive a cluster of sample locks, in groups of around 8-12.

You should have at least 3-4 inches of hair length. Less than 3 inches will make it difficult to analyze. The purpose is to determine your natural hair texture, any changes in texture and density, and to choose which locking pattern is best suited for your particular hair type. It is strongly recommended your hair be clean, free of any oils or conditioners and without braids or extensions. If you are transitioning from chemically processed hair to natural hair, at least 1 1/2-2 of new growth is necessary.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO CUT OFF YOUR YOUR RELAXED HAIR. If you have recently relaxed your hair or are between braiding appointments, you will need to reschedule the consultation. You have extreme dandruff, eczema or psoriasis condition or an unhealthy scalp, which requires treatment, please reschedule until the condition has improved.

In order for Sisterlocks to be uniform in appearance and remain strong and healthy, we must form a partnership. This partnership means agreeing to be consistent with retightening appointments, following post appointment instructions, and using recommended sisterlocks products, exclusively.

Locking session

Locking fee is $975 for 3-4 inches then $25 an inch.

Prior to locking session. Come to your hair appointment clean.

Please do not blow dry or straighten your hair in anyway.

Do not add any conditioners, oils or moisturizers.

Please do not plan any other activities the day of your appointment. It is impossible to predict how long your locking session will take. Sessions may take at least 2-4 days.

After locking session you will receive a starter Kit. Which has instructions about shampooing and bundle braid sections. Separate your locks after shampooing to keep them from joining to each other. Dry hair thoroughly before going to bed; this prevents mildew and odor from forming in your locks.

Avoid oil based products for at least first 6 months after getting your locks you are in a “settling in” phase. Softening agents found in moisturizers and conditioners can cause your hair to resist the locking process and cause build-up especially if they are not water-soluble.

Regular maintenance 

Retightening is $145 for 2-4 hours and $25 each hour after.

Please come to your retightening appointment with your hair clean the night before.

If you are sick please reschedule. (If rescheduling is not available please refer to policies for backup loctician phone numbers).

Your next appointment should always be scheduled to ensure that you will be on schedule. Your appointments will be recorded via email and text to you as reminders.
